RACHEL BISHOP aka RACHEL ELLKTRA aka AVRO aka LITTLE MISS MASHUP.
Manchester-born Rachel has been engulfed in music all her life. Inspired by her DJ big brother she took to both the decks and music production at the age of 15. Her first break was with UK Garage label ‘Nice ‘n’ Ripe’ working with the legendary Grant Nelson. Over the following years she continued producing under various guises, releasing tunes via Basement Records,
Sony Music and her own Larger Than Life Records imprint. Her remix and production work has included David Bowie, Steve Strange, OMD, Sara Parker, Angie Brown, Boney M, Shades of Rhythm, Blue Amazon and many more. Her work has received acclaim and praise from eveyone from Eddie Gordon to Sir George Martin.
These days, Rachel’s musical output is limited since losing much of her sight to diabetes in 2013. She now spends much of her time avidly collecting vinyl, playing guitar, cooking world cuisine and indulging in her wine hobby! She does still produce now and then with her wife, Helen’s assistance.
