Meet The Producer
Pete Maude
First started out in an Indie band in 87 called Friends but left after their first album, Let’s Get Away From it All. Played in a couple of other bands in the 90s, one called Salinas who played mainly in London but no commercial releases unfortunately.
Started dance music production in the early noughties under the name Southbeach, releasing on Summerhouse Records. Tracks supported by DJ Mag, Steve Lawler, Pete Tong and Alexander Robotnik.
Other original material has been released on Morjim Records – Hotel de Jackin and Techno Park under the name Dasilva Fox – and then “Twenty” on BBop Music last year, under the name Bardez.
DMC: the best classic mix for me is the DMC mix of The Source Feat Candi Staton – You Got the Love from around 91, still love that version now and play it ahead of any others.
First DMC mix: Visage Fade to Grey vs Weeknd Starboy in December 2020.
Best gig: on a floating bar in the middle of an estuary in Goa in 2017 when Goa was our home, on a scorching Saturday afternoon and great sunset. A mainly Russian crowd who were well up for underground house, with my wife and two kids in tow!
What am I doing now? Mixing for DMC alongside being a part time bean counter!
