Meet The Producer
Bentley Jones - Phunkstar - K-Klub
Bentley has been producing remixes for DMC for over 16 years under various remix aliases including Phunkstar and K-Klub. Starting when he was 17 years old, his first remixes for DMC were of Madonna (“Like a Prayer”) and DJ Casper (“Cha-Cha Slide”). His favourite DMC mix would be his Phunkstar rework of Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain On Me”, as his previous Gaga remixes led to Mother Monster herself following Ben on Twitter. Commercially, Bentley’s first Club Chart #1 was his remix for Liz McClarnon (“Woman in Love”) which topped both the UK and European Club Charts.
Outside of remixes, Bentley is also an internationally successful recording artist. His debut broke the Recochoku Top 5 in Japan and was the first British artist to release a Japanese album on a major label. He’s since gone on to enjoy worldwide success with his music, performing live for 12.1 million viewers on Japanese TV show “Nodojiman THE WORLD!”, headlining the Tokyo Bon Summer Festival in 2019 and premiering new music to 52.2 million viewers at the historic Global Pride 2020 festival.
He’s currently an ambassador for CoSound (UK), Miami Beach Pride (USA), 9Monsters (the #1 LGBTQ+ app in Asia) and Queens Sounds (UK).
He’s also composed music and songs for many video-game franchises including TEKKEN, The X-Files, Sonic the Hedgehog, Gradius, Contra, Titan Wars, QQ Dance and more.
